Contest
Rules:
1.
The
competition will take place in Thessaloniki.*
2.
Competition
Categories: General magic, Stage manipulation, Grand
Illusion, Mentalism, Close-up&parlour magic,
Comedy, Close-up card magic, Juniors.
If the BMS jury members are of the shared opinion that it
would be in the best interests of a contestant to change
his or her category, they are entitled to make such a
change. This action, however, should never hamper another
contestant's chances of winning a prize.

3. Competitors: Artistes from member countries recognized
by the Balkan Magic Society will compete in the name of
the country agreed upon.
Juniors category is for the contestants under 16 years
old.
A contestant is not allowed to submit to more than two
categories.
A
senior contestant must present a complete act (not a
single trick) no more than 12 minutes, after which the
contestant will be disqualified; his or her presentation
will be ended. Juniors must present a complete act
(not a single trick) no more than 7 minutes.
4. The
jury is formed by two representatives from each member
country of BMS. Each member of the jury shall give a fair
judgment on the performance of every contestant, with an
equal level of critical standards in regard to the
following six aspects:
- Technical Skill & Handling
- Showmanship & Routining
- Entertainment value
- Artistic Impression & Magic Atmosphere
- Originality
Each judge
will give a total score of up to 100 points to each
contestant
The prizes will be awarded to the highest scores in each
category. To be awarded a first prize, a contestant must
have a final score of at least 80 points. The final score
must be at least 70 points for a second prize and at least
60 points for a third prize. A contestant with a final
score lower than 50 points is considered below the BMS
Level and will be disqualified.
If two competitors gain the same number of points in one
category the title will be shared (ex-eaquo).
The Grand Prix will be awarded to the contestants who are
given the highest total score of at least 90 points
5. A performer who has been awarded a Grand Prix in a
previous BMS contest is not allowed to compete again with
essentially the same act.
6.
It is understood that all competitors agree to all rules
once their application to the competition has been
accepted.

Due to organization problems, the
competition had been realized in Sofia and no results
have been transmitted to the
Secretary General of The Balkan Magic Society.
